Food poisoning is an unpleasant illness that is caused by the consumption of food or drink which has been contaminated by bacteria, viruses or chemicals including naturally occurring toxins. Symptoms can start within a few hours or a number of days.
When a customer complains to you alleging food poisoning it must be dealt with in a swift and professional manner as it can seriously affect your reputation.

- Arranging for food samples to be analysed by an independent laboratory
